Jim Donnelly is pleased to announce that the Improve Your Snooker Academy had now moved to a new coaching location. Snook’A’Scene was one of the first of the new era snooker clubs to open in Scotland in the 1980’s and is still run by the original owner, Chris Mackie.
The club has 8 Riley Imperial tables, 2 downstairs and 6 upstairs in the main hall. It also has a ‘Masters Room’ with a Riley Aristocat table which is the first tables that the World Professional Tournaments were played on and is where Jim holds his coaching sessions. The club has a small comfortable lounge with excellent friendly staff.
As it is the clubs 30th anniversary year, Chris has reduced the playing costs to the original 1980’s price of £5 for 2 hours. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the facilities of the club.
The club has recently been used as a movie location for Ken Loach’s new film ‘The Angel’s Share’, which is due to be released in 2012. The film centers around a young Scottish troublemaker who is given one final opportunity to stay out of jail. Newcomer Paul Brannigan, 24, from Glasgow is set to play the lead role.
